Speedie Gigabit

So when the mayor of Duluth calls you up on his red phone and says, “We need a mascot” it’s time to listen. I’m talking about the real mayor, not the fake Mayor of Duluth. Ignore the fake mayor.

Speedie Gigabit was created as a mascot for the Duluth Google Fiber Initiative, or Google Twin Ports if you’re counting Superior, WI.

Originally, I put a fedora on him, but someone thought he should be more worker-type, and suggested a Castro-type hat instead. So for kicks, I also made Commie Gigabit.

Speedie has his own Facebook page, fans, and appeared on the cover of a local weekly paper. Lots of people have made movies, and Photoshopped him into scenes from around Duluth.
